An urban girl with a southern heart and eastern roots, Nita was born in Mississippi and raised just outside of Washington DC. After years of learning classical piano and singing with her musical family, she knew in her late teens that singing and songwriting was her calling. Since then, Nita’s gypsy spirit has taken her to live and perform in cities like DC, NYC, LA, Austin, London, Copenhagen and Berlin. With influences like Tori Amos and Sara Bareilles, her originals are at times emotional, heartfelt, & passionate, but also soothing & healing as well.
